Edisto Realty Sponsors Second Annual Low Country Tomato Festival
Apr 22nd, 2007As the Premier Corporate Sponsor of the Edisto Island Open Land Trust, Edisto Realty today announced they would also sponsor the Second Annual Carolina Low Country Tomato Festival.
Scheduled for June 28, 29 and 30 the festival kicks off at the Edisto Island Yacht club at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 28, with a party and live auction.
On Friday, the 29th, there will be a golf tourney at the Plantation Course at Edisto starting at 9:30 a.m. A kid’s Summer Fun Park will be held at the Edisto Driving Range from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. At 3 p.m. there will be a tomato food contest at Main’s Market on Highway 174. In the evening, at 6:30 p.m., there will be a Tomato Queen Contestant’s Parade around the beach.
On Saturday, the 30th, the Kid’s Summer Fun Park will continue at the Edisto Driving Range from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. A craft show will also take place there during those hours. And everything will culminate with a street dance and crowning of the Tomato Queen at Whaley’s, 2801 Myrtle Street, beginning at 7 p.m. and running until 12 a.m.
All of this will benefit the Edisto Island Open Land Trust which is a local, non-profit organization formed to preserve and protect lands, scenic vistas, heritage and conservation resources of Edisto Island, South Carolina for future generations.
