6BR + Den / 6.5BA – “Adjusting Quite Swell” is a lovely 6 BR + Den, 6.5 Bath, front row beach house: K, K, K, Q, Q, BB, Q-Sleeper – sleeps 14. Located on one of the highest and most desirable addresses on Palmetto Blvd, Edisto's “main road”. This uniquely custom-designed house is built for light and for expansive ocean views, where you can click repeat to see your own daily "perfect sunrise".
The beautiful wooden front doors open into a dramatic two-story entry hall and foyer, leading into the spacious family room (living, kitchen, dining). The gourmet kitchen includes exquisite stone countertops, stainless steel appliances, 36-inch range/oven, dishwasher, large island w/bar seats, two refrigerator / freezers, microwave oven, and a separate wet bar with beverage center to entertain large groups. The kitchen island seats 4 and the dining room seats 6-8. The living room has comfortable seating and a 75" flat screen TV over the built-in fireplace. The “beach room” is off the kitchen, and houses the Washer/Dryer, a large utility sink, the 2nd refrigerator, and plentiful stone countertops for clothes folding or food prep.
The kitchen/dining room walks out onto the covered ocean-side porch, which includes a large sun deck (with two lounge chairs), and panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean. You will enjoy morning sunrises and beautiful walks on the beach. There are four comfy chairs under the covered porch area, and an outdoor table for oceanside meals.
The main floor has two BRs, each with its own full tile bathroom. The main floor master bedroom (K) has a soaker tub, a rainfall shower, a wall-mounted TV, and walks out directly onto the oceanside porch. You can literally watch the sun rise without getting out of this bed! The 2nd bedroom on the main floor (Q) has a TV, and lovely windows facing Palmetto Blvd. The covered front porch (facing Palmetto Blvd) also has a few comfy chairs, to allow for some relaxing time in the shade.
The 2nd floor opens from the entry hall stairway to a central spacious loft/activity area, to which the elevator, den, and four bedrooms are all open. A 2nd floor wet bar has a under-cabinet fridge and sink, making it easy to grab a cold drink. There are two master BRs (K) on the 2nd floor beachfront side, and each of these BRs has a TV, a private tiled bathroom, and walks out directly onto the expansive 2nd floor covered porch, which extends the full width of the 2nd floor. The den/media room is oceanside as well, and also walks out onto the 2nd floor covered porch. The den has a 65" wall mounted TV, multiple chairs, and a sleeper sofa (Q).
There are two additional bedrooms (Q, BB) on street side of the 2nd floor. Both of these BRs have their own private, tiled bathroom, and the 2S bedroom has a tub/shower combo. The Q bedroom has a TV.
There is generous parking under the house, as well as on Palmetto Boulevard, with elevator access to all floors. A gas grill is on the pad beneath the house, on the ground-level entertainment area. Chairs and a picnic table await your oceanfront picnic. A custom boardwalk leads from the lower level, directly onto the beach. There is a foot shower at the base of the lower level stairs, to rinse off sand, and a full-sized, outdoor shower so you can leave the salt outside!
There is custom cabinetry throughout and an expert designer's touch to all aspects of this magnificent house. The house is also solar-powered and uses a Tesla Powerwall battery for whole-house electrical backup for 6-8 hours. If the power goes out, you just keep partying! Ceiling fans are throughout the house.
