Directions to Edisto
From Charleston & Columbia, SC Take I-26 Towards Charleston, then take I-526 towards Savannah. At end of I-526 make a right turn at light and merge right onto HWY 17 SOUTH. Follow HWY 17 SOUTH (about 20 miles) Then turn left onto HWY 174 and follow signs to Edisto Beach.
Alternate Columbia directions (I-26) and from Walterboro, SC Take I-95 to Walterboro/Lodge Exit #57, follow HWY 64 EAST to HWY 17 NORTH (about 25 miles) *****DO NOT TAKE HWY 17A!!***** follow HWY 17 NORTH (about 7 miles), turn right on to HWY 174 and follow signs to Edisto Beach.
From Savannah, GA Take I-95 NORTH to the exit marked "POINT SOUTH/CHARLESTON" which is HWY 17 NORTH. Take HWY 17 NORTH (about 45 miles) to small town named Jacksonboro. Continue about 7 miles farther on HWY 17 NORTH and turn right on HWY 174 then follow signs to Edisto Beach.
Once you reach Edisto: When you cross the McKinley Washington Bridge over the Intracoastal Waterway you are on Edisto Island. The island is larger than most people realize, it is 15 miles to Edisto Beach from here.
You will pass the historic Presbyterian Church on Edisto Island on your left in about 7 miles, this is a good first landmark.
Roughly 3 miles further on is the historic First Baptist Church also on your left and shortly thereafter historic Trinity Episcopal Church will be on your right. About another mile takes you past the Edisto Island Serpentarium on your left.
You will know you’re actually approaching Edisto Beach when the small commercial area begins. You will pass the Edistonian General Store on your left and then reach the causeway leading to the beach.
When you reach Edisto Beach do not turn right on Jungle Road. The road itself will bear right just before the Pavillion, this is just past the Piggly Wiggly and a convenience store, Highway 174 becomes Palmetto Boulevard.
Palmetto Boulevard runs right down the beach and Edisto Realty is at 1405 Palmetto Blvd., 1.5 miles past the Pavillion.
